HJAIA Fire Station #40

Fire Station 40, located just south of Runway 9R/27L, plays an integral safety role at the world’s busiest and most efficient airport. The new facility will include technological advances that will improve response times. It is also pursuing LEED Silver certification, which underscores Atlanta’s commitment to preserving the environment through green building practices. The new 30,000 square feet fire station, commissioned by the airport to replace the existing fire station, will accommodate an expanded team of personnel. Additionally, it will house a larger apparatus bay for additional emergency vehicles and an attached observation tower that overlooks the airport’s runway.
